Author Guidelines

All manuscript submitted to Journal of Basic and Applied Research in Biomedicine are screened for plagiarism. 

The manuscript should be submitted as a single Microsoft file: font size 12, times new romans, double space with wide margins (2.5 cm from all sides) on one side of A4 paper. Figures and tables should be inserted within the manuscript in a proper position. Continuous line numbers should be given for all sections in the manuscript. 

The manuscript should be prepared according to International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).

 

The manuscript should include: 

Title page: Abstract and Key words

Introduction

Materials and Methods

Results

Discussion

Conclusion 

Acknowledgements

Conflict of interest  

References

 

Title page: the title page should include

  • The title of the manuscript, author’s names and affiliations and the corresponding author email.
  • Abstract: abstract should be 200-250 words and should Include the objectives, methods, results and conclusion. 
  • Key words: key words should be 3 to 10 words.

Introduction:  The problem, previous reports and the objectives should be described concisely in this section. 

Materials and methods: In this section, the methods should be clear and applicable and provide sufficient detail that the experiments can be repeated. Ethics statements should be stated (if applicable). 

Results: Results should be clear, reliable and provide detailed response rates. Statistical analysis or other indicators should be applied to enable assessment. Tables and figures should be inserted in a proper position. Result section can be merged with the discussion section. 

Tables: tables should be prepared using Microsoft word, numbered (e.g. Table 1) and a brief title should be given for each table

Figures: figures should be prepared using Microsoft word, numbered (e.g. Figure 1) and a proper legend with a title and a brief description should be included. 

Discussion: The result should not be repeated in this section. Detailed interpretation of the findings should be highlighted. Comparing the reported findings with the previous published findings should be given in this section.

Conclusion: Should link the findings with the aims of the study. 

 

References:

In the text: references should be referred by name and year [e.g. (Borges, 2010); (Borges and John, 2011); (Borges et al., 2014)].

In the list:

References should be listed alphabetically and should be prepared according to APA citation system. See examples:

For journal: Estevinho, L., Pereira, A. P., Moreira, L., Dias, L. G., & Pereira, E. (2008). Antioxidant and antimicrobial effects of phenolic compounds extracts of Northeast Portugal honey. Food and Chemical Toxicology, 46(12), 3774-3779.

For book: Ermann, M. D., Williams, M. B., & Shauf, M. S. (Eds.). (1997). Computers, ethics, and society. New York, NY: Oxford University Press.
